The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Nyesom Wike, undertook a final inspection of key infrastructural projects across Abuja, declaring the International Conference Center (ICC) ready for full operations.
Addressing journalists during the tour, Wike expressed deep satisfaction with the level of work executed and attributed the success to purposeful leadership, financial discipline, and the unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“This is one of the happiest moments of my life,” the Minister stated. “At a time when people are complaining about economic hardship, we have delivered essential infrastructure to the people. We give glory to God and thank Mr. President for standing with us.”
The inspection covered several critical project sites including the N2 Gishiri road, Apo Wassa road among others.

At the heart of the inspection was the newly completed International Conference Center, which Wike described as meeting global standards and ready for immediate use.
“The center is not just completed; it is magnificent,” he said. “We are not handing it over to politicians. It will be maintained by Julius Berger, the company that built it. This is part of our new approach, ensuring that public facilities are properly maintained through professional agreements.”
Wike confirmed that operations will commence shortly after commissioning and that the technology installed in the center is being managed by competent Nigerian staff who have been adequately trained.
